Shaikh Nasser, representative of His Majesty the king for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president, has announced that 2018 will be named ‘Only Gold’, urging the athletes to step up their aspirations while competing at different sporting events.
“We will work hard to achieved more gold medals, break records, and represent Bahrain the way it deserves to be seen around the globe. We truly believe in our youth, and champions. We always punch way over our weight, so let’s go out now and dig out the gold,” said Shaikh Nasser.
At his meeting with representatives of sports federations at the BOC premises in Seef, Askar noted that the new pursuit launched by Shaikh Nasser puts both the committee and the federations in front of a new challenge and responsibilities to put in more efforts and achieve higher standards on the regional and international levels.
“The overwhelming words of His Majesty Shaikh Nasser to only look for gold is a great challenge for us to set up new strategies and programmes in order to develop our athletes and national teams in various sports, leading them to excellence and bringing us a brighter future for Bahrain sports,” said Aksar.
