Arsenal Supporters Club Nigeria was set up in 2004 by four staunch Gunners fans.It received official recognition from Arsenal in 2005 and since then has grown to include branches from different states and regions within the country such as Arsenal Port Harcourt, Arsenal Jos, Arsenal Abuja and Arsenal Ado Ekiti. Arsenal Nigeria is run via branches or zonal arrangements and does not have one particular place as a meeting point. Zones are authorised to hold meetings, with the majority of groups gathering every weekend to screen live matches. It holds various activities during the year, including road shows, an end-of-season party and seminars in which branch representatives are educated on the general operation of the supporters\' club. A number of Arsenal Nigeria representatives have visited both Emirates Stadium and attended Champions League away matches. “Everyone is bubbling and raring to go,” national coordinator Emeka C Onyenuforo said. \"The spirit here is absolutely on fire and buzzing every time news comes around. \"I recently met an old woman of 67 years old who is an ardent Arsenal follower and she said to me, ‘Being alive still and witnessing Arsenal play live in this land remains my greatest honour as a person.’ That’s the way it is over here. \"Many fans over here are deeply addicted to the team and consider the Club to be their first love and would do anything to see their team play.\"
