A new batch of Yemeni families and Yemenis injured in the aggressive attacks by the Houthi militias and their supporters, arrived in Abu Dhabi at dawn yesterday to receive treatment in the UAE hospitals.
This move comes as part of the efforts to implement the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) managed, in cooperation and coordination with the Armed Forces, to evacuate 68 injured and stranded families from Yemen. The gesture reflects the strong bonds that link the two peoples. It is also part of the humanitarian efforts being exerted by the UAE to ease the suffering of the Yemenis and improve their humanitarian conditions in the face of the Houthi group insurgency.
At dawn, the Emirati plane landed at the Abu Dhabi Airport, carrying 31 injured and those accompanying them, in addition to 20 stranded people who had been displaced and whose homes had been demolished as a result of acts of sabotage, looting and destruction of property by the Houthi group as well as due to deteriorating security situation in a number of Yemeni cities.
The injured were received at the airport by a number of health officials. Ambulances equipped with the latest medical equipment were also awaiting the injured at the airport. The injured were sent to various hospitals nationwide to receive the treatment. They thanked the UAE, its leaders and people for the humanitarian gesture.
So far, about 100 people and a Libyan family comprising eight members, have been evacuated.
