The Saudi-led Arab coalition warplanes destroyed two boats owned by Houthi militants after sailing from the Mokha port on the Red Sea coast of Yemen into international waters, threatening maritime navigation.
In a statement carried by Al Arabiya TV channel on Thursday, the coalition said the two boats were equipped with a radar and a machine gun.
A thermal rocket was fired from one of the boats before the Arab coalition jet fighters destroy them.
A Houthi military leader was also reported to have been killed in an air raid launched by the Arab coalition.
The slain commander was identified as brigadier general Mohammed Abdul Rahman al Khalid.
He was in a meeting with Houthi field and military leaders at a security directorate when the Arab coalition warplanes targeted them.
