At least 19 Taliban militants were killed and 5 others were injured in a series of clean-up operations carried out by Afghan national security forces.
"The operations were conducted in the past 24 hours by Afghan National Police (ANP) forces in cooperation with the Afghan National Army and NDS to clear some of the areas from terrorists," Afghanistan's Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement, Khaama Press reported.
"The operations were conducted in Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Baghlan, Laghman and Helmand provinces, as a result 19 armed Taliban members were killed and five others were wounded," the statement further added.
