A new 24-member Palestinian government headed by Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has been sworn-in in Ramallah, the Palestinian Authority said. The cabinet has nine new ministers, including Nabil Qassis who replaced Fayyad as finance minister, WAFA reported Thursday. The cabinet resigned a year ago after signing a reconciliation agreement with Hamas that allowed for the formation of a unity government. When it became clear the reconciliation accord was not going to be implemented anytime soon, President Mahmoud Abbas asked Fayyad to form a new government.
