The Israeli navy on Monday arrested two Palestinian fishermen while sailing offshore the coast in northern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian fishermen captain.
The captain Nizar Ayyash said that the Israeli boats surrounded the Palestinian boat and attacked it off Gaza City shores, before arresting the two fishermen who were on board.
Ayyash explained that the Israeli boats pulled the Palestinian boat to the Ashdod port, the Israeli sources have not commented on the incident immediately.
Israeli navy usually frees the fishermen detained in the sea of Gaza Strip after hours of questioning them under the pretext of smuggling weapons into Gaza by sea.
Israel and the Palestinian factions signed a ceasefire deal on August 26, 2014, ending Israeli latest summer offensive on Gaza, which claimed the lives of over 2,200 people.
The ceasefire also allowed fishermen to sail as far as six nautical miles from shore, and would continue to expand the area gradually.
