The Zimbabwean government formally issued its support Thursday for the rights of the Palestinians to self-determination and to form their independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, based on international law and relevant international resolutions. The statement came in a meeting between Palestinian ambassador to Harare, Hashem Al-Dajani, with the Zimbabwean Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Mumbengegwi, to discuss the country’s position in the UN this September. Secretary-General of the Zanu-PF Party, Simon Khaya Moyo, in a meeting with Dajani, also expressed his country’s solid support of the Palestinian people’s rights.
