The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Director of Operations in Jordan, Sandra Mitchell, visited the northern city of Irbid to check on the conditions of the Palestinian refugees there. Irbid Governor Khaled Abu Zeid gave a briefing on services offered to refugees to secure a decent life for them, adding that the government is treating the refugees in terms of services just like any other social segment of the Jordanian community. He hailed UNRWA’s support for refugees in the fields of health, education and infrastructure. Mitchell expressed her appreciation for Jordan’s support of Palestinians, commending the governorate of Irbid for its humanitarian role towards the refugees.
