Two suicide gunmen broke into the headquarters of the Directorate of Terrorism, in Tikrit, the center of Iraq’s Salahal-Din Province early Monday, killing and wounding several policemen, Salahal-Din’s Protection Command source reported. "The first suicide gunman blew himself up at the entrance of the Directorate of Terrorism, killing a police colonel and a policeman," the source told (Aswat al-Iraq) news agency. He said that the second suicide bomber opened fire and threw hand-grenades on the Directorate’s rooms, clashed with one of its officers, who shot him dead, whilst the officer was injured. The source put the final result of the attack at 3 dead and 9 injured, all of them from the Directorate’s police elements. He said both suicide gunners have entered the building, under disguise of being Iraqi Intelligence men and dressed in police uniform. Meanwhile, the official in charge of the Branch of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), led by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, in Saadiya township of northeast Iraq’s Diala Province, has been killed, together with his bodyguard, Diala’s Security Committee Chief reported. "An armed group, belonging to al-Qaeda Organization, had blocked the road on PUK’s Saadiya Branch’s official, Abbas Hassan Rashid, in his township, 155 km to the northeast of Baaquba, the center of Diala Province, killing him and one of his bodyguards on the spot," Dilair Hasan told (Aswat al-Iraq) news Agency. He said the attack took place close to the venue of the 1st Battalion of the Iraqi Army’s 4th Brigade of the Rapid Interference Forces in the township on Sunday.
