Turkey\'s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu discussed over the phone with UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the famine in Somalia and its repercussions on neighboring African countries, in addition to the Libyan issue. Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Davutoglu had updated his Emirati counterpart on results of his talks with Syria. During the conversation, the two officials also discussed the current situation in Libya. Davutoglu invited the UAE to attend an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that will convene in Ankara on August 17, 2011 to discuss the famine in Somalia.
