Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Thursday that US should replace its anti-ISIS envoy Brett McGurk because of his support for the Syrian Kurds in Syria.
Turkish new agency (Anadolu) quoted Cavusoglu as saying that Brett McGurk is definitely giving clear support to the Syrian Kurds . "It will be beneficial if this person is replaced," he added.
McGurk was appointed as a presidential envoy for the anti-ISIS coalition by former President Barack Obama in October 2015.US backing for the Syrian Kurds is a major point of contention between Ankara and Washington.
