Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Hamed Hassan, said on Sunday that Syria under the wise leadership of its president is determined to continue its reform policy, believing that foreigners are now fanning the flames of recent unrest in his country. Syrian ambassador: Syria to continue with its reform policy Syrian ambassador made the remark in a round-table debate, which was published in the Sunday edition of the Persian-language daily `Iran\'. There are two plans in the region, he said, adding that one is the US-Zionist backed plan which encourages domination over rergional oil resources and occupation of the territories, while the second plan, known as “resistance”, that counters the first one. Since Syria is an independent country and is against occupation, it has been the target of existing plots masterminded by the US and Zionists, he said. Syria has always been opposing to the plans masterminded by the US and Zionist forces, said the Syrian ambassador. Developments in Syria are different with those in other countries, he said. Number of protestors in the country is about two percent of the total population and the Syrian president too has welcomed the reform diplomacy, he said. Some saboteurs are now using weapons to compensate their failure on the political scene and justify foreign intervention in the country’s internal affairs, he underlined. They were going to trigger bloodshed to give enough evidence to foreign media in order to prepare grounds for blatant interference of foreign forces, he said. Foreign elements have mobilized these groups and provide them with financial, political, diplomatic and media support, he said. They have offered numerous incentives to Syria to distance itself from the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as ‘Resistance’ but to no avail, he underlined. Syria is determined to continue its right path under any circumstances, he underlined. There is no doubt that Syria will overcome this problem and will play its significant role in regional and global developments more powerfully, he said.
