Chaos ensued in a Philippine plane when passengers were not allowed to exit the aircraft.
Eyewitness Gin Durano posted videos and photos on social media saying that they have been stuck inside the Cebu-Manila flight for more than an hour. She also mentions about the bedlam that ensued with babies crying and senior citizens complaining about the heat inside the cabin, as the air-conditioning system was turned off.
According to Durano, a woman also passed out and she had to be given an oxygen mask to be resuscitated. Airline officials allegedly did not take any action to deplane passengers until the aforementioned woman passed out.
A Philippine Star report says that a probe has been launched about the flight which left people in panic. The report also quoted a statement from the airline - Cebu Pacific. The statement explained the reason for the delay was due to debris that had to be cleared from the runway. The statement also said:
'Cebu Pacific assures the public that its cabin crew and ground personnel assisted all passengers and handled the transfer to the replacement aircraft. It added that the flight departed Manila at about 7:32 p.m, and landed safely in Cebu at 8:52 p.m.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these incidents may have caused and appeal for understanding.'
