North Korea conducted another successful test of an intercontinental ballistic missile ICBM ” Hwasong-14″, the Korean Central News Agency ( KCNA) said Saturday.
North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, personally supervised the midnight launch of the missile took place Friday night, the agency noted.
It also said that the missile flew for 47 minutes, reached a maximum height of 3,725 kilometers (2,314 miles) and travelled 998 kilometers (620 miles).
The North Korean leader stressed that the missile test proved his country’s ability to strike all of America’s mainland, describing it as a “stern warning” for the US. “The test-fire reconfirmed the reliability of the ICBM system, demonstrated the capability of making a surprise launch of the ICBM in any region and place any time, and clearly proved that the whole U.S. mainland is in the firing range of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea missiles, Kim said.
The missile launched late Friday from Jagang province as an unusual time for North Korea’s tests as well, in what could be a signal from North Korea to show its ability to launch missiles at any place and time.
