A man who caused a fatal head-on car collision that killed two teenagers was suspected of manslaughter, Finnish national broadcaster Yle reported on Monday.
A boy and a girl, both 17, died after the deadly road accident, which took place on Saturday evening in Saastamala, central Finland.
The 35-year-old driver of a minivan was suspected of deliberately swerving the vehicle to hit the oncoming moped car, in which the two teenagers were seated.
In the interrogation on Monday, the man admitted he had tried to kill himself. He said that he did not know the oncoming vehicle was a moped car, but thought it was a bigger vehicle.
According to Yle, police said that the suspect had a history of mental health problems.
