Kuala Lumpur - Emirates Voice

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V of Malaysia hosted this evening a State Banquet at the national palace - Istana Negara - in honour of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
HM the King was received on arrival by Sultan Muhammad V and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. He wrote the following statement in the VIP Guest Book:
“We are deeply honoured and delighted at visiting Malaysia and meeting HM Sultan Muhammad V who contributed greatly to his country’s development, security and stability. We would like to express our admiration for the landmark achievements, progress strides and conciliation between religious authenticity and modernization for the sake of all Malaysian people. We pray to the Almighty to guide you on the path of success and bless Malaysia and its people with lasting progress and prosperity”.
The two monarchs then held a meeting during which they reviewed good relations binding the two countries and peoples, before exchanging commemorative gifts.
HM King Hamad and Sultan Muhammad V headed to the Palace Banquet Hall, where the two national anthems were played. The Palace Imam prayed to the Almighty to bless the two countries and peoples with security. He also prayed to bless HM King Hamad and Bahrain. A group of Malaysians then staged traditional folkloric and cultural show.
Sultan Muhammad V delivered the following speech.
Your Majesty
There is vast scope and potential to strengthen bilateral trade. For this reason, Malaysian would live to invite and encourage the private sectors of both countries to play a more active role in seeking trade and investment opportunities in Malaysia and Bahrain.
But potentials exist also in areas beyond just trade and investments. In this regard, I am happy that We are fostering closer relations in the defence sphere as well.
May we once again express Our please in receiving Your Majesty, and pray to Allah the Almighty to continue to shower His blessings and good health on Your Majesty.
HM the King then delivered the following speech
Your Majesty Sultan Muhammad V,
Your Excellencies,
Honourable guests
Peace and God’s mercy and blessings be upon you
We would like first to express our thanks and appreciation for your Majesty's invitation to visit sisterly Malaysia. We are delighted with the visit and we found everything that confirms its long history of humanity and the depth of its modern development.
We also found all the indications that its progress and prosperity will continue thanks to God’s will, your leadership and the support of their majesties, so that your glorious country remains an integrated model of comprehensive development in all its dimensions.
Your Majesty,
The Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of Malaysia's consistent and balanced approach to openness to the world, adoption of the values of moderation and fairness, adherence to the principles of coexistence and tolerance and embrace of cultural and religious pluralism. This is an inherent approach that our country has always adopted to preserve its achievements and to deter all threats to its progress and stability.
In this context, we highly appreciate Malaysia's active and influential participation in the Islamic coalition forces and joint defense to confront extremism and terrorism and lay the foundations of peace for a bright and promising future for our Muslim nation, God willing.
The Kingdom of Bahrain, based on its close relations with your brotherly country and the fruitful cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, confirms its constant readiness to make every possible effort to stand with Malaysia and to open new horizons for our two countries to grow and prosper.
We look forward to the rapid implementation of agreements and memorandums of understanding, which we will sign tomorrow, God willing, in the field of defence, air services, oil and gas, in addition to cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry in order to enhance cooperation between our two brotherly countries.
In conclusion, we are very pleased to extend our sincere congratulations to Your Majesty on your accession to the throne which Malaysia celebrated a few days ago, thanking your Majesty for the graceful welcome and gracious hospitality extended to us since our arrival in Malaysia.
We extend, and with great pleasure, an invitation to Your Majesty and to all those attending this ceremony, to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain, a country that cherishes its close brotherly relations with Malaysia.
We pray to God Almighty to help you in the service and steady progress of Malaysia.
Peace and God’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
