The pavilion of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA, attracted widespread attention from participants at the first edition of the ‘Belt and Road Bookfair’ for copyright trade which took place from 19th to 21st August, in Shandong, China.
The pavilion was visited by many dignitaries, most notably Zhang Chihua, Chairman of the Shandong Publishing Group, Jo Huilin, Deputy Minister of the National Press and Publication, Radio and Television, and Information Minister, and Sun Shugang, Deputy Governor of Shandong Province.
‘Kalima’ is one of the leading translation projects in the Arab world, transferring masterpieces of international literature to the Arabic language. The project has translated more than 1,000 titles from 30 languages, since 2007.
Hosted by Shangdong Publishing Group, the ‘Belt and Road Bookfair’ featured more than 100 Chinese and foreign publishing houses and included a series of literary activities and events over the three-day fair including the Summit Forum, a series of lectures and a tour of the Chinese philosopher Confucius’ hometown.
