Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani expressed confidence about final victory of the Palestinian people and liberation of the holy Quds from the control of the Zionist regime. "The Palestinian cause, which has for long been looked upon by the Muslim nations across the world, will ultimately prevail until the liberation of al-Quds from the clutches of the Zionist [regime of Israel's] usurpers," Larijani stated. As regards the International Quds Day, the Iranian parliament speaker described the day as the true manifestation of freedom for all the independence-seeking nations of the world. The occasion auspiciously coincided with a magnificent wave of Islamic Awakening across the Islamic countries, he also said. "Egypt, once a safe haven for Zionist [regime of Israel's] leaders has now been turned into the scene where Muslims of all walks of life express their resentment for the policies of the occupying regime in Tel Aviv," Larijani noted. Meantime, millions of Iranians took to the streets in all Iranian cities across the country on the International Quds Day to voice support for the Palestinian nation against Israeli regime. The International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims. International Quds Day is an annual event opposing Israel's occupation of Beitul-Muqaddas. Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held on the last Friday of Ramadan in Muslim and Arab countries around the world, and especially in Iran. Protesters unanimously condemned Zionists' crimes in the Palestinian occupied lands.
