Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai in a phone conversation conferred on the latest developments in the bilateral relations between the two countries, and underlined further reinvigoration of these ties. Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a phone talk Wednesday felicitated the Eid al-Fitr to the two nations and governments, as well as the world Muslims. President Ahmadinejad and President Karzai in the phone talk also emphasized need for further strengthening the friendship and brotherhood bonds between the two nations, and wished for their ever increasing prosperity and advancement by grace of Almighty Allah, and thanks to the blessings of the fasting month of Ramadan. Iran and Afghanistan enjoy expanding ties and cooperation and observers believe that the good achievements gained in area of their mutual cooperation should be deemed as a result of the efforts made by the two countries' officials. Iran is one of the most important donors to Afghanistan which has kept its promises and helped to the reconstruction of the war-hit country. Iran has built several roads, power transmission lines, and border stations, among other infrastructural projects.
