His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed the importance of the cooperation between Bahrain and the International Peace Institute (IPI) in the service of security and stability in the region and in promoting the culture of peace.
Receiving Terje Roed-Larsen, the president of the institute, who offered his best wishes on the holy month of Ramadan, HM King Hamad praised the quality of the activities carried out recently by the institute, saying that they have had great impact regionally.
HM the King reiterated Bahrain’s support for all efforts seeking to consolidate security, stability and peace regionally and globally. He highlighted the hallmarks of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and mutual acceptance that have characterised the Bahraini society throughout its history.
He added that such noble attributes were the result of the people’s high awareness, respect for all religions and openness on all cultures and civilisations.
Bahrain is moving ahead towards accomplishing further achievements, progress and prosperity, he added.
HM King Hamad lauded the research and contributions by the IPI and its contributions to efforts to promote global peace.
