Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Hojjatoleslam Kazem Sediqi says ongoing unrest and crisis gripping the UK today is the direct result of London’s colonialist policies and crimes. Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon here at Tehran University campus, Hojjatoleslam Sediqi said present developments and events in the UK are sign of the West’s collapse. He said, “No one thought that the UK, which was once the standard bearer of colonialism and arrogance, would be the target of public wrath this way. The UK events are the reflection and outcome of the challenges and problems which Britons created for the world in the past. And today, flames of the challenges have hit the British people themselves. “ Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojjatoleslam Sediqi referred to severe draught in Somalia and said millions of people are facing acute famine and are threatened by death. He also criticized the US and certain other countries for their colonialist policies towards the African states and said, “The US has plundered many wealth of the African continent and today, there is no word in donation of aid to the Somalian draught-stricken people by the US.” He praised Iran for its humanitarian assistance to Somalians, asking the Iranian citizens to rush aid to the people. He then asked Iranians at large to take part in the Quds Day rallies, slated for the last Friday of the lasting month of Ramadhan.
