Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received in his office at the Ministry’s General Court today, a delegation from the US House of Representatives chaired by the Chairman of the House Rules Committee, U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions, including Mr. Vern Buchanan, Mr. Tim Ryan, Mr. Jeff Duncan, Ms. Stacey Plaskett, and Mrs. Jenniffer Gonzalez Colon.
The Minister praised the deep historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, expressing his pride and appreciation for the strategic alliance between the two countries which, he said, is witnessing continuous development at all levels to enhance their mutual interests, and reviewing ways to progress these relations to meet the aspirations of the two countries and support efforts to promote security and peace in the region.
The Minister hailed the positive and constructive results of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders and the President of the United States of America Summit, as well as the Arab-Islamic-American Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, affirming that these results achieve common interests and push forward areas of mutual cooperation and prospects for relations to advance at all economic, political and security levels and to enhance coordination in the fight against terrorism.
The US House of Representatives delegation expressed their happiness to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain and meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs and exchange views on the close relations between the two countries, the diverse and continuous progress in cooperation and issues of mutual interest, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
