An F-16 fighter jet crashed in southeastern Turkish province of Diyarbakir on Monday night, Dogan News Agency reported.
The warplane was confirmed as an F-16 fighter jet from the 8th Main Air Base Command in Diyarbakir, which fell near Yesiltepe Village in Diyarbakir.
According to initial reports, the pilot jumped from the plane before crash. Search and rescue teams, ambulances and security forces were dispatched to the scene immediately.
It was not immediately clear what caused the plane crash and commercial flights to Diyarbakir were being rerouted to nearby airports.
