Within the framework of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's official visit to Malaysia, Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, held a meeting here with Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The talks reviewed the progress of bilateral relations, and ways to bolster them in various fields.
HH Shaikh Mohammed stressed the importance of the success of the visit by HM the King to Malaysia in strengthening bilateral relations and opening up new horizons of cooperation that serves the interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
The meeting highlighted areas of cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
They also discussed the latest regional and global developments, stressing the importance of consolidating security and stability in the region and across the world.
The deputy premier hosted a lunch banquet in honour of his Malaysian counterpart.
