Secretary General of the Palestinian Presidency Tayeb Abdel Rahim conferred on Wednesday with Wu Sika, China's envoy to the Middle East peace process. The envoy conveyed a message from the Chinese government expressing its full support for the Palestinian Authority''s efforts to gain recognition of the UN. He said the Chinese government was earnestly following up those efforts, underscoring his country''s support for the legitimate Palestinian rights. Wu Sika noted that those efforts were not violating the peace process , stressing that a peace solution should be based on ending the Israeli occupation and establishing a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
