In a hilarious case of a burglary gone wrong, a suspect burglar got stuck in an extractor at a takeaway for seven long hours and had to shout to passers-by for help.
The West Midlands police stated on their website that people spotted a pair of legs sticking out from DFC Chicken on Rookery Road in Handsworth, England, before calling the police.
The incident was informed to the police only at around 8.20am when people started coming out of their houses in the morning. Response officer PC Matthew Willocks was sent to the scene and snapped a picture of the hapless suspect aged 45, who was finally released from the hole just before 9am.
Willocks said: "The extractor unit had been removed and the suspect had climbed in to the extractor outlet at around 2am. He was completely stuck and couldn't move at all. The fire brigade had to come in and use the jaws of life to pull back all the extractor casing to release him."
The man was taken to hospital for a check-up and has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
