Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, has met Russian Minister of Culture, Vladimir Medinsky, and discussed ways to boost bilateral relations and cooperation, chiefly in tourism sector.
Bahrain’s Ambassador to Russia, Ahmed Al-Sa’ati, attended the meeting that was held on the sidelines of the inauguration of the BTEA’s Representative Office in Russia .
On the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Zauani expressed delight in meeting the Russian minister and commended the Russian officials’ interest in supporting the inauguration of the Representative Office that will provide the opportunity for more cooperation in cultural, tourism and economic areas.
The Russian minister extended an invitation to Minister Al-Zayani to attend St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum to be held in November 2017.
“Russia is one of the main markets and we are looking at developing a stronger bond between both countries on the cultural, touristic and economical front. The main aim behind the representative office is to promote the Kingdom as a unique destination and attract more tourists,” Al-Zayani said.
The launch of the representative office comes in line with the BTEA’s strategic outreach program to promote the tourism brand ‘’Ours Yours’ aimed at showcasing the Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal tourism destination to the regional and international markets and further promote the Kingdom’s touristic offering as a main contributor to the overall economic growth in line with the Economic Vision 2030.
