His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honorary President of Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Association (BMMAA), has received Indonesian Ambassador to Bahrain, Nur Syahrir Rahardjo, accompanied with an Indonesia business delegation.
HH Shaikh Khalid praised the bilateral ties between the two friendly countries and people, citing the ambassador’s role in boosting the cooperation ties in various fields.

HH Shaikh Khalid explored with the visiting Indonesian business delegation ways and means of bolstering the cooperation in the field of sports, especially mixed martial arts (MMA) sports and to promote the sports culture in Indonesia which would reflect positively on its spread throughout the continent of Asia.

His Highness reviewed Bahrain’s rich experience and its achievements in the MMA game, latest of which was Bahrain’s winning the confidence of International Federation of Mixed Martial Arts for Bahrain to host and organize the World MMA Amateurs Championship on November 12-19.

The ambassador reaffirmed his country’s keenness on boosting its cooperation with all friendly countries including Bahrain. He praised His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his patronage of youth and sports sector in Bahrain culminating in numerous achievements in this field.

The ambassador noted that the Mixed Martial Arts sports began to actively spread kingdom-wise thanks to the efforts of His Highness in boosting and supporting this culture, wishing Bahrain more progress and prosperity in all fields in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
