The Arab Parliament has called for an immediate halt of bloodshed and acts of violence against the Syrian people. The Arab Parliament''s Foreign and Political Affairs Committee, underlined today after meetings it started on Thursday to discuss the situation in some Arab countries especially Syria, Libya and Yemen, the need to consolidate the values of democratic dialogue and the peaceful transfer of power. The Arab Parliament urged the Arab League to take a position towards the developments in Syria, and demanded the Syrian government to allow humanitarian organizations and bodies and international human rights groups to enter Syria, to reveal the facts on the ground, and to allow the international media to reflect the events in the country to the whole world. Participants at the meeting suggested the formation of a delegation from the Arab Parliament''s Foreign and Political Affairs Committee to visit Syria to establish facts and reflect the situation to the Arab Parliament. Regarding the situation in Libya the Arab Parliament called on the Libyan leadership to hand over power to the Libyan people and urged the establishment of institutions under a national constitution and the maintenance of the unity of Libyan people and territory. The Parliament also called on the Yemeni leadership to hand over power to the people of Yemen with a special emphasis on the rejection of fragmentation and division of the Yemeni people, and on their cohesion and maintenance of Yemen''s unity and stability.
