Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has requested an emergency session of the United Nations Security Souncil to discuss stepped-up Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, a senior official said on Saturday. Dr. Saed oreikat, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, said in a statement to the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, that the president advised the delegate of Palestine at the UN, Riad Mansour, to act immediately and seek the holding of the urgent session to discuss the continuous and escalatorty attacks that claimed scores of lives. At least 15 Palestinians have been killed since Israel started intensive attacks on the strip last Thursday.
