Some 270 refugees were temporarily evacuated due to a fire in the registration and reception center in the Bulgarian town of Harmanli near the border with Turkey, officials said Tuesday.
The fire broke out around midnight local time on Tuesday in an uninhabited warehouse. It was quickly extinguished by firefighters, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
No people were injured, the ministry said, adding that the fire burned about 10 mattresses for beds and other property in the room.
The case is under investigation, the ministry added.
