A United States delegation, accompanied by a Lebanese army unit to protect it, started its visit to the Syrian-Lebanese border on Wednesday morning as reported by Arabstoday on Monday. The delegation, which is composed of four members, and is headed by a senior US official believed to belong to a joint venture between the ministry of justice and the CIA, will tour the border area between Lebanon and Syria where violent clashes have been occurring and Al-Geded television cameraman, Ali Shaaban, was recently killed. A security source told Arabstoday that the US delegation upon its arrival in the region on Wednesday morning met with a number of fugitive Syrian families in Pekiin, in the Wadi Khaled region of northern Lebanon.
