The UAE Embassy in Poland participated in an economic conference titled, "Export to the Gulf States," and focussed, during the conference, on the UAE’s position as one of Poland’s most important trading partners in the region.
The conference was organised by the Polish company,"2WAYS Sp. z o.o," in the capital, Warsaw, with the honorary sponsorship of the UAE Embassy and the attendance of Sawsan Abbas Al Alawi, Second Secretary at the Embassy, the director of the local Emirates Airlines office, and representatives of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and several banks and companies.
Al Alawi gave a speech on behalf of Dr. Youssef Issa Hassan Al Sabri, UAE Ambassador to Poland, where she discussed the topic of UAE-Polish commercial relations and the means of developing and consolidating them. She added that the UAE is an important economic partner of Poland in the region, and there have been over 20 agreements signed between the two countries in various areas, especially the economy, which should further strengthen and facilitate their economic and commercial relations.
She stressed that the UAE provides many privileges to investors, which has enabled it take the first position in the region in terms of the level of external investments while the World Investment Report 2017, issued by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, UNCTAD, has placed the country in the 12th position internationally on the list of the most promising economies to invest in, during the period between 2017 and 2019.
She also pointed out that the UAE has witnessed rapid development in many areas, under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and has even become a leader in the space sector, which has enabled it to be the future host of the 2020 International Astronautical Congress, IAC, for the first time in the region, since its launch in 1950.
The conference, which was a unique opportunity to establish commercial relations and listen to experts and experienced professionals, saw the attendance of many companies that are interested in exporting and co-operating with the UAE and the region’s other countries.
