Two extremist militants were killed in an initial toll of clashes between Tunisian security forces and an armed group, on Tuesday night, in the northern province of Kasserine, state media reported.
"Two terrorists were killed and weapons were seized by the National Guard units in Kasserine state, Tunisia Africa Press news agence qouted the spokesman for General Directorate of National Guard, Brigadier Khalifa al-Shaibani.
Al-Shaibani said the identities of the two terrorists killed in the exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorist group had not been identified. He also stressed no injuries were recorded in the ranks of the National Guard. He pointed out that clashes took place in the mountain of Perino near the Algerian border, and continued until night, according to the agency.
