The Tunisian minister of human rights and transitional justice, Samir Dilo, who is also assigned to the case of \"revolution martyrs and casualties\", has revealed the detection of some fake cases who gained legal compensation as defined by the law (2000 euros for each martyr and 3000 euros for each casualty). Dilo declared during a meeting with the revolution martyrs and casualties committee, that \"hundreds of fake casualties\" were detected, as well as \"at least two confirmed cases of fake martyrs\". He pointed out that these cases explain that this file has been dealt with on a \"political basis rather than legal.\" The revolution martyrs and casualties file has been considered a critical one for the Tunisian government , as the ministry of human rights and transitional justice has not received just one list of the martyrs and casualties, but actually it has received three lists - one from the ministry of interior security, another from the supreme commission for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the third from the committee of inquiry, which are \"largely conflicting lists\", a situation that raises questions about the credibility of those lists, according to the minister. The Tunisian government decided recently to send 17 of the revolution casualties abroad for treatment, to dispel the anger of some of them, who complained about \"negligence\" in the official dealings of their case. Earlier, Qatar has offered to finance treatment for a number of Tunisian revolution casualties, whether in Qatari hospitals or in other countries, while Germany has provided a similar offer, but required that they sentda medical committee to confirm the need to travel abroad for selected cases which was rejected by the Tunisian government, describing that requisition as an \"assault to our national sovereignty.\"
