A Jordanian security source stated that Daraa’s Mufti and Imam of Omari Mosque, Sheikh Ahmed Sayasna, who is often referred to as one of the detonators of the Syrian uprising, has arrived at the city of Ramtha, north Jordan. The source said that official authorities moved the Sheikh to Amman, where a secure residence was arranged for him. Army elements had found the blind Sheikh and offered to help him before handing him over to the authorities which secured his transfer to Amman. According to Syrian refugees in Ramtha, the Syrian authorities had arrested Sheikh Sayasna’s brother after learning that the Sheikh had crossed the Syrian borders. The blind Sheikh of Daraa was one of the very first supporters of the protests against the Syrian regime.
