Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed el-Qasimi, a member of Sharjah’s ruling supreme council, confirmed that the measures taken by the emirates to arrest vandals while attempting to escape through border crossings and ports, where attempts to solve the problem, not evolve it. Sharjah’s ruler spoke during a telephone conversation on a television show on the Sharjah Channel. He said: \"measures that the state taken to arrest vandals who tried to escape through airport and border crossings, these measures come to solve, not to evolve the situation. We want to maintain order, stability and the safety of our citizens\". He said: \"I am asking the prisoner’s parents to be patient. I am asking every mother to excuse us for arresting her son; she must know that he is precious to us. We only want him to be well-guided. These measures should not be considered a punishment, but the process for a person who has made a mistake – We want them to be good members of society, according to Allah’s will, this coming feast won\'t pass unless everything is ok\". He also added \"for the second time I advise our brothers, sisters and our sons and daughters to please the nation as it is yours – Don’t lose it. Unity is one of the most pure experiences\". Dr el-Qasimi stressed the importance of protecting the state, its security, stability and the emirate’s achievements in implementing development plans.
