Egypt’s Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf has said that emergency law has been activated to protect the revolution from anyone “It will be lifted soon,\" he said. \"Egypt is becoming more secure, but is yet to be completely secure. We need to see people supporting police officers again.” Sharaf said in a press statement during the opening a building at Cairo International Airport on Tuesday: “The current government is temporary and seeks to oversee fair and impartial elections for the People\'s Assembly, the Shura Council and the President.” He added that the government has found it difficult to work in the absence of a parliament, however it continues to work for the revolution’s goals, in particular the establishment of the democratic process, as without democracy there will be no economic or social development. The Prime Minister also said that Saudi authorities are investigating the issue of Egyptians who who abused on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. He confirmed that the investigation will punish those who abused the pilgrims, adding that Saudi authorities understand Egypt’s demands and will work to implement them. Sharaf also addressed the Egyptian position on the Ethiopia Millennium Dam. He confirmed that the Tripartite Technical Committee (consisting of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia) is studying the impact of the dam, pointing out that the Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said during his recent visit to Egypt that the dam will not damage Egyptian water interests.
