Venezuela has arrested a senior member of the FARC rebel group, Colombian police said on Friday. William Alberto Asprilla, aka “Marquetaliano,” was wanted for the killing of three US citizens in 1999. He was captured on Wednesday by Venezuelan police aided by Colombian army intelligence, AFP reports. Carlos Mena, the head of Colombia\'s DIJIN criminal investigation service, said Asprilla, 62, is a founding member and mid-level leader of the leftwing Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). Bogota had requested his arrest through Interpol on charges of conspiracy, rebellion and kidnapping and will seek his expulsion or deportation.
