King Abdullah hosted the besieged Yemeni President Saleh in his Riyadh palace on Monday. Saleh expressed his gratitude for the King’s hospitality and the medical care that he received in Saudi’s hospitals. He praised Saudi Arabia for standing by Yemen during the current crisis and supporting the Yemeni people. King Abdullah expressed his gratitude for Saleh’s kind words, and asked God to help him and Yemen overcome the current crisis in Yemen. He reaffirmed Saudi’s support for a stable and secure Yemen. Saleh has been recovering in Saudi Arabia after being injured in an assassination-attempt at his Presidential palace in June. Since January, opposition movements have demanded Saleh’s resignation. Protests For and Against Saleh take place on a daily basis in Yemen and hundreds have died in clashes since January. 46 anti-government protesters were killed by Yemeni security forces yesterday and Sunday.
