Deputy Chairperson of Saudi Fund of Development Yossef Bin Ibrahim Al Bassam revealed that the fund’s contributions to the development projects in Sudan witnessed notable increase, as they reached to over $ 1.2 billion.
He added, during his participation in the opening of a number of projects in Sudan Thursday, “It makes me happy to deliver the greetings of Saudi King Salman and Saudi government and people to your country.”
Bassam was keen to underline the strong relations between the two countries, stressing that the relations between the two countries witnessed notable progress in different fields under the leadership of Saudi king and his brother, President Omar Hassan Al Bashir
He added that the fund supported the project with $ 150 million, saying that they will resume their support for a number of Sudanese projects in the field of electricity.
He signaled that the two countries signed an agreement upon which the Saudi government will provide $ 100-million grant to Sudan to provide drinking water in the rural areas, stressing the Saudi keenness to resume its support for the Sudanese government to achieve its productive projects in different fields.
