Hamas leader, Dr. Ismail Radwan, welcomed the statement made by Turkish Prime Minister, Racep Tayyip Erdogan, expressing his desire to visit the Gaza Strip. Radwan said that this historic visit indicated Turkey interest in supporting the Palestinian cause, telling ArabsToday: "We welcome this historic visit by Mr. Erdogan, as it indicates Turkey’s interest in supporting the Palestinian cause and Palestinian rights, and is a form of political and moral support to help break the political sanctions imposed on Gaza." He added that Erdogan’s desire to make the visit highlights the depth of Turkey's relations with the Palestinian cause, stressing that it will help to expose the crimes of the occupation, and the siege of the Gaza Strip. He claimed that it would also encourage Muslim leaders to help break the siege, and to visit Gaza. The Turkish Prime Minister, Racep Tayyip Erdogan, on Tuesday announced his desire to visit the Gaza Strip under the control of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas”, noting that officials have configured the organization of such a trip. Radwan condemned the long-standing Zionist aggression towards the besieged Palestinian people, and expressed his solidarity with the French flotilla ship "Dignity", saying that he considered the seizure of the ship a crime, an act of international piracy, and a flagrant infringement of international law. He stated: "The fact that the Zionist occupation continues to prevent the access of solidarity campaigns and humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip; imposing a naval blockade and attacking them, will not put an end to the solidarity campaigns for the Palestinian people, but it will instead increase the determination and efforts to lift the siege and oppression on our people in occupied Palestine." Radwan stressed the need to continue activating the campaign to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip, calling on human rights and humanitarian organizations, and the liberals of the world, not to bow to Zionist pressures, and to work to expose the practices of the occupation, and bring about the prosecution of its leaders before international tribunals.
