Clashes erupted Wednesday in Cairo between Syrian protestors in Egypt and a Damascus delegation in front of the Arab league headquarters, where they prevented the Syrian delegation from entering the building. Eyewitnesses told ‘Arabstoday’ that the Syrian protestors organised themselves into human shields to barricade the gates, while some members of the community tried to separate the delegation members from the rest of the demonstrators, bringing them taxis to take them from the front of the Arab League’s headquarters. The Syrian delegation went to meet with Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Arabi on Wednesday afternoon. Demonstrators were protesting outside the Arab League to condemn the acts of violence and repression imposed by embattled president Bashar Al-Assad’s regime against its people.
