Egyptian President-elect Mohammed Morsi on Monday received Turkish foreign minister Ahmed Davutoglu at the presidential headquarters in Heliopolis (West Cairo). The Turkish officials congratulated the President on his recent election win, and the two discussed joint cooperation between the two countries. President Morsi also met the leader of the Umma Party and former Sudanese prime minister Sadiq al-Mahdi. The dialogue tackled the latest developments in Sudan and demonstrations taking place against the regime. Al-Mahdi praised Egypt\'s role in the region, describing it as a \"reflection of its success on its Arab and African brothers”.
