United Nation envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed left Sana’a on Wednesday without achieving any progress in the Yemeni crisis or resuming last year peace talks. UN sources said that, Ismail left Sana’a in shock as he wasn’t able to make Houthis approve to his roadmap.
The sources also said that, Houthis and Saleh party refused to withdraw from Hodeidah Port before addressing the issue of government officials’ salaries. Ismail roadmap states the importance of Houthis’ withdrawal from the port as a base for a humanitarian truce that was supposed to be conducted in Ramadan and then the resume of the peace talks.
