Khaled Meshaal, the head of Hamas's political bureau will arrive in Amman on Sunday January 29, accompanied by the Crown Prince of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, on a private jet from Doha, according to Jordanian sources. Hamas didn not confirm or deny the news, committing to the decision of not commenting on any visit until it is officially announced. Meshaal is preceded in Jordan by a high-level Hamas delegation arriving from Cairo. Arrangements of the delegation's agenda are currently being made to coordinate between the three-party meetings: the Jordanian Royal court, the Qatari Crown Prince and Hamas. The schedule will be determined by the end of this week. The upcoming visit has been anticipated for a few months, but it was "delayed" for technical reasons according to the three parties. Informed political and media sources pointed out, however, that internal and external political pressure was the reason behind the delay, especially during the Jordanian king's visit to Washington last week to meet with President Barack Obama.
