Korean Air flight diverted after bomb threat

A Korean Airlines Boeing 777 headed from Vancouver to Seoul was forced to make an emergency landing on Vancouver Island following the second bomb threat to the airline in just two days. The threat came by a phone call to the airline\'s Los Angeles office, CBC News reports. The aircraft, carrying 149 passengers, was escorted to an airbase at Comox, some 120 kilometers northwest of Vancouver, by American F-15 fighter jets based in Portland, Oregon. The previous threat, to Korean Airlines flight 72 on Monday, resulted in a two-hour flight delay prior to takeoff. Passengers were asked to debark the jet so it could be checked for explosives. Korea Air’s Vancouver office says it has voice recordings of both calls, and an investigation is underway.
