A man detonated his explosives belt among Shiite mourners in Diyala province, killing at least 15 people and wounding more than 40, Iraqi officials said. Officials said the attack targeting two senior military officials occurred as mourners gathered inside a tent to pay respects to the family of the brother of a prominent sheik in in Baquba, about 37 miles north of Baghdad, CNN reported.. Neither of the military officials -- identified as Lt. Gen. Ali Ghaidan, commander of the Iraqi army\'s ground forces, and Abdul Ameer al-Zaidi, commander of Diyala military operations -- was killed, although officials said at least three of Ghaidan\'s guards died. Security officials said they think al-Qaida in Iraq was responsible for the attack. Attacks last Wednesday against primarily Shiite pilgrims killed nearly 100 people, wounding hundreds more and raising the possibility of renewed sectarian violence.
