Iraqi security forces arrested, on Friday, ISIS-related elements, said to be the cousin of Islamic State’s supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in Jawasaq neighborhood, in right side of Mosul, according to Iraqi media.
Security source said that the detention operation was in accordance with accurate intelligence information, adding that security forces transferred the detainee to unknown place for security reasons, and to complete the investigation with him.
On Sunday, social media outlets circulated a video showing police forces walking a handcuffed, bearded militant whom they claimed to be the cousin of Islamic State’s supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The commander of the rapid reaction forces, Thamer Ismail, announced last Monday, the liberalization of the entire neighborhood of Jawasaq, in the right side of the city of Mosul, and killing 50 of ISIS's element, stressing that the troops storm Aldndan and al-Dawasa districts.
